The Board of
Dental Practice, affiliated with the Department of Professional and Financial
Regulation, will require a one-time Other Special Revenue Funds allocation of
$84,443 in fiscal year 2023-24 for the costs associated with hiring a
consultant to review options for establishing a limited license for dental
professionals other than dentists credentialed under the laws of another
state, a Canadian province or a foreign country and to prepare the required
report no later than January 15, 2024.
The board has expressed concern that it may not have sufficient cash
available to fund the allocation and still maintain the cash reserves needed
to address any unanticipated expenses related to their regulatory duties. A fee increase may be needed if its cash
reserves are depleted. |
