This bill includes
a General Fund appropriation to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner
within the Office of the Attorney General of $100,000 in fiscal year 2024-25
to procure services for forensic genetic genealogy testing of the
deoxyribonucleic acid, or DNA, of unidentified human remains. The fiscal year
2024-25 cost assumes testing of 20 bodies currently in the possession of the
Office of the Chief Medical Examiner. In subsequent years the projected cost
assumes testing of 3 additional bodies per year. |
