The Office of the
Chief Medical Examiner within the Office of the Attorney General will require
an appropration of $100,000 in fiscal year 2023-24 and an ongoing
appropriation of $15,000 per year beginning in fiscal year 2024-25 to procure
services for forensic genetic genealogy testing of the deoxyribonucleic acid,
or DNA, of unidentified human remains.
This estimate assumes testing of 20 bodies currently in the possession
of the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner and 3 additional bodies in each
subsequent year. |
