This bill
includes a one-time General Fund appropriation of $50,000 in fiscal year
2023-24 to the Housing Opportunity Program within the Department of Economic
and Community Development for the cost of a consultant to support the work of
a stakeholder group established to study methods and develop model policy to
encourage the development and construction of accessory dwelling units. |

Additional costs
to the Governor's Office of Policy Innovation and the Future and the Maine
State Housing Authority associated with participating in a stakeholder group
regarding accessory dwelling units can be absorbed within existing budgeted
resources. |
