The Department of
Health and Human Services (DHHS) noted that eliminating a prior authorization
requirement will only affect timing and not result in an increase in
utilization. Also, given the wide range of wholesale prices for electric
breast pumps, many will be under the current rate and some will be higher.
Thus, any additional costs to the DHHS to adopt the changes in this bill are
expected to be minor and can be absorbed within existing budgeted resources. |
