Establishes new
Class B and Class C crimes; increases correctional and judicial costs. The
bill changes one crime from Class C to Class B and 6 crimes from Class D to
Class C. The current average cost of incarcerating one individual for a
single year is $55,203.
The additional workload associated with the minimal number of new felony
cases filed in the court system does not require additional funding at this
time.
The collection of additional fine revenue associated with increasing the
class of crime for the prohibited possession of a firearm by certain persons
will increase General Fund and dedicated revenue by minor amounts. |
