This bill includes a one-time General Fund
appropriation of $250,000 in fiscal year 2024-25 to the Maine Fire Protection
Services Commission to provide grants to fire departments for the purchase
and installation of diesel exhaust systems and heavy duty extractor washing
machines. |

The bill also
creates the Firefighter Safety Equipment Fund within the Maine Fire
Protection Services Commission with a base Other Special Revenue Funds
allocation of $500 beginning in fiscal year 2023-24. |
