|
The Maine Fire
Protection Services Commission will require a one-time General Fund
appropriation of $5,250,000 in fiscal year 2023-24 to provide grants to fire
departments for the purchase and installation of diesel exhaust systems and
heavy duty extractor washing machines.
This assumes 150 fire departments at an average cost of $35,000 for
each location. |

The bill also
creates the Firefighter Safety Equipment Fund within the Maine Fire
Protection Services Commission with a base Other Special Revenue Funds
allocation of $500 beginning in fiscal year 2023-24. |
