Fiscal Detail
and Notes |
The bill includes
General Fund appropriations of $980,000 in fiscal year 2023-24 and $1,240,000
in fiscal year 2024-25 to the Office of the Attorney General (OAG) for 10 new
Assistant District Attorney positions, 8 of which will be prosecutors for
recovery courts, specialty dockets and diversion programs and 2 will be
prosecutors for appellate and post-conviction review cases. |
The OAG has
indicated that it currently provides funding for the Personal Services costs
of Assistant District Attorney positions while counties fund the All Other
costs associated with such positions. A funding approach consistent with this
tradition would reduce the General Fund appropriations to $900,000 in fiscal
year 2023-24 and $1,200,000 in fiscal year 2024-25. |
