The bill includes
an ongoing General Fund appropriation of $1,000,000 beginning in fiscal year
2023-24 to the Department of Corrections for local or regional communities to
support the creation and implementation of plans to increase programs and
services available to juveniles in the locality or region. The bill also includes a General Fund
appropriation of $148,504 in fiscal year 2024-25 to the Department of
Corrections for one Public Service Coordinator II position and related costs
to implement and administer the grant program. |

Any additional
costs to the Departments of Health and Human Services and Corrections to take
part in a working group to support juveniles involved in the juvenile justice
system are expected to be minor and can be absorbed within existing budgeted
resources. |
