Fiscal Detail and Notes
This bill includes General Fund appropriations totaling $1,256,550 in fiscal year 2022-23 to the Department of Education to provide grants, technical assistance and training to community services corps programs with the mission of responding to the impacts of climate change.  Of that amount, $406,550 in ongoing funds is provided to a newly established Maine Climate Corps Program - Maine Commission for Community Service program account to support 5 Maine Climate Corps Program leadership positions and $600,000 is provided on a one-time basis to support 20 eligible participants of the program.  Additionally, $250,000 in one-time funds is provided to the Maine Service Fellows Program to increase the opportunities for individuals to devote a year of service to communities in the State.
