The bill includes
ongoing General Fund appropriations to the Courts of $1,540,000 beginning in
FY 2022-23 for guardian ad litem services in family matters cases. According
to information provided by the Judicial Branch, it is estimated that there
are over 900 family matters cases where guardian ad litem services are needed
but both parties in the case are unable to afford the guardian ad litem. The
total estimated cost per case is around $1,700. |
