This legislation
increases the amount of funding to support the salary supplements to eligible
teachers who attain certification from the National Board for Professional
Teaching Standards by directing all revenue collected from teacher
certification fees be deposited into the National Board Certification Salary
Supplement Fund instead of the $335,000 that is currently required in
statute, resulting in an estimated $735,000 reduction in General Fund revenue
and a corresponding increase in dedicated revenue to the salary supplement
fund beginning in fiscal year 2023-24. |
