This amendment
creates the Body-Worn Camera Fund within the Department of Public Safety and
provides one-time allocations from the local fiscal recovery funds authorized
in the federal American Rescue Plan Act of 2021. These funds are to be used to provide
grants to law enforcement agencies for body-worn cameras, equipment, storage
and maintenance costs. Any additional costs to the Department of
Administrative and Financial Services to compile reports received from law
enforcement agencies is expected to be minor and can be absorbed within
existing resources. |
