This bill
authorizes the Governor to distribute up to $400,000 from the Maine Budget
Stabilization Fund during a state of emergency to certain nonprofit entities,
which will reduce the balance of the Fund. The exact amount by fiscal year
cannot be determined at this time and will depend on when and if a state of
emergency occurs and on how much funding is authorized by the Governor. Any
additional costs to the Department of Agriculture, Conservation and Forestry
to conduct rulemaking regarding the manner in which the funding will be
disbursed are anticipated to be minor and can be absorbed within existing
budgeted resources. |
