Requiring school
administrative units (SAU's) to grant up to 15 days of "COVID-19
related" sick leave to public school employees affected by the illness
caused by COVID-19 and to restore "regular" sick leave days used
after January 1, 2021 until the employee has been granted a maximum of 15
"COVID-19 related" sick days may result in increased costs to local
school administrative units if the SAU pays more in total sick leave benefits
and substitute teacher costs than it would have absent this legislation. The impact on individual SAU's will depend
on actual experience. |
