This bill requires the Courts to establish a statewide electronic warrant system. It is estimated that the judicial department will require General Fund appropriations beginning in fiscal year 2022-23 of $520,190. Of this total, $359,100 is to purchase a commercial eWarrant System software product that can support 2,700 users including judicial branch employees, justices of the peace and law enforcement officers. $78,440 is one-time funding for the purchase of hardware needed for justices of the peace to access the eWarrant system. The remaining $82,650 is ongoing funding to maintain accounts necessary for justices of the peace to access the eWarrant system.
