Fiscal Detail and Notes
This bill includes ongoing General Fund appropriations totaling $400,000 per year beginning in fiscal year 2022-23 to the Employment Services Activity program within the Department of Labor to support apprenticeship programs. Of that amount, $200,000 is provided to increase support for apprenticeship training reimbursement for registered apprenticeships with the Maine Apprenticeship Program and $200,000 is provided for educational programs that include both industry-based and job-related classroom instruction designed to prepare individuals to succeed in a registered apprenticeship program.
The bill also requires the State Controller to transfer $200,000 from the Medical Use of Marijuana Fund within the Department of Administrative and Financial Services to the unappropriated surplus of the General Fund no later than June 30, 2023 to offset a portion of the fiscal year 2022-23 General Fund appropriations in the bill.
