The Maine Vaccine
Board sets an annual assessment for all health insurers for funds needing to
be collected to ensure that insured children have the opportunity to receive
all recommended vaccinations. This year’s first quarterly assessment at the
new rate is payable May 15, 2020 for child covered lives in the months of
January through March 2020. Child covered lives are determined by the number
of children enrolled in health insurance plans for those individuals who are
Maine residents. As it is not known how many individuals are enrolled in
post-secondary schools, are not Maine residents and are under the age of 19,
no estimate is made at this time of the potential increased assessment
required to cover the new costs. |
