The bill requires
equal pay increases to correctional officers (and their equivalent position
at Long Creek Youth Development Center) out of a total of $3,656,580. After
dividing this total among the specified postions, the average increase in pay
was 13%. The bill also requires wage increases to those who supervise
correctional officers, including corrections captains, correctional
lieutenants, corrections unit managers (and equivalent positions at Long
Creek Youth Development Center) equal to the same percentage wage increase as
given to correctional officers. The bill includes $4,085,590 in General Fund
appropriations across correctional facilities in the Department of
Corrections, with $3,656,580 appropriatied for correctional officers, and
$429,010 for supervisory positions. Pay increases are retroactive to July
2020. |
