An Act To Ensure Sufficient Representation of Adults Receiving Mental Health Services on Local Councils within the Consumer Council System of Maine
Be it enacted by the People of the State of Maine as follows:
Sec. 1. 34-B MRSA §3611, sub-§7, ¶C is enacted to read:
C. At least 33% of the membership of a local council that consists of 6 or fewer members and at least 40% of the membership of a local council that consists of 7 or more members must consist of adults receiving mental health services.
SUMMARY
This bill amends the laws governing the membership of local councils within the Consumer Council System of Maine. It requires that at least 33% of the membership of a local council that consists of 6 or fewer members and at least 40% of the membership of a local council that consists of 7 or more members must consist of adults receiving mental health services.
