An Act Regarding the Licensing of Funeral Practitioners

Sec. 1. 32 MRSA §1501-C  is enacted to read:

§ 1501-C.  Permanent license for out-of-state licensees

Notwithstanding section 1504, subsection 1, the board may issue a permanent license to an applicant who holds an active license to practice funeral service in another state the license requirements of which are substantially similar to the license requirements under this chapter and board rules.

SUMMARY

This bill allows the State Board of Funeral Service to issue a permanent license to engage in the funeral service profession and operate a funeral establishment to an applicant who holds an active license to practice funeral service in another state the license requirements of which are substantially similar to the license requirements in Maine.
