This bill would
transfer authority for the licensing of land-based aquaculture from the
Department of Marine Resources (DMR) to the Department of Agriculture,
Conservation and Forestry (ACF). No licenses have yet been issued for this
purpose by DMR. Moving the licensing authority is not expected to alter the
frequency of issuing such licenses in the future. Any additional costs to ACF
as a result of licenses issued in the future are anticipated to be minor and
can be absorbed within budgeted resources. |
