Fiscal Detail
and Notes |
|
|
|
|
|
|
The Department of
Health and Human Services (DHHS) will require Federal Block Grant Fund
allocations of $288,329 in fiscal year 2017-18 and $294,740 in fiscal year
2018-19 for 3 Senior Planners to conduct and score the comprehensive
substance abuse screening, schedule drug tests, make referrals to treatment
programs and to cover the cost of additional written screenings that will be
required.
There is also an additional cost for the drug tests ($62/each), but it is
unknown how many of these tests will be required after the screening is
complete. Also, it is expected that this will have an impact on MaineCare
expenditures or DHHS Substance Abuse treatment contracts due to increased
enrollment in treatment programs. The fiscal impact for these portions of the
bill cannot be determined. |
