Amend the bill in section 1 in §1778 by striking out all of subsection 4 (page 2, lines 8 to 11 in L.D.) and inserting the following:
‘ 4. Timber. "Timber" means roundwood and residue.

Amend the amendment by inserting before the 11th indented paragraph (page 2, line 8 in amendment) the following:
Amend the bill in section 1 in §1779 by renumbering the subsections to read consecutively.

This amendment removes the requirement that, if the State provides a subsidy to a person who purchases timber, the person give preference to timber harvested in the State by an in-state contractor.
