Amend the resolve by striking out all of section 6 and inserting the following:
‘Sec.
6. Staff assistance. Resolved: That the Legislative Council shall provide staff support to the commission, except that the Legislative Council staff support is not authorized when the Legislature is in regular or special session. The Legislative Council shall contract for necessary staff support for the commission during the legislative session and may contract for such staff support for a longer period to the extent needed and if sufficient funding is available; and be it further’
Amend the resolve in section 9 in the last line (page 2, line 27 in L.D.) by striking out the following: "activities." and inserting the following: 'activities; and be it further'
Amend the resolve by adding after section 9 the following:
‘Sec.
10. Appropriations and allocations. Resolved: That the following appropriations and allocations are made.

This amendment, which is the majority report of the committee, changes the provision in the resolve regarding staffing for the Commission To Study the Phase-out of Subminimum Wage. Instead of the Legislative Council providing all staffing for the commission, the Legislative Council is only authorized to provide staffing when the Legislature is not in session. The Legislative Council is authorized to contract for necessary staff support when the Legislature is in session.
This amendment provides funds for the operating costs of the commission and for contracted staff support.
