An Act To Amend the Anson and Madison Water District Charter

Sec. 1. P&SL 2011, c. 6, §4, sub-§2  is amended to read:

Sec. 2. Organization; conduct of business. Except as otherwise expressly provided in this Act, the organization and powers of the board of trustees must be in accordance with Title 35-A, chapter 64.

Notwithstanding Title 35-A, section 6410, subsection 4, within 30 days after the effective date of this Act, the trustees shall hold a meeting for the purpose of electing a chair, treasurer and secretary from among them to serve for one year and until their successors are elected and qualified.

A quorum of the board of trustees consists of 4 members , 2 from the Town of Anson and 2 from the Town of Madison.

This bill amends the charter of the Anson and Madison Water District to remove from the provision governing a quorum of the board of trustees the requirement that 2 trustees must be from Anson and 2 trustees must be from Madison.
