An Act To Support Maine Military Charities

Sec. 1. 37-B MRSA §159  is enacted to read:

§ 159.  Authority to provide space to certain nonprofit organizations

The Military Bureau may provide space in a military facility under the jurisdiction of the Military Bureau to a statewide nonprofit organization established for the purpose of providing assistance to members or families of members of the Maine National Guard. A nonprofit organization provided space under this section may use the space only for the purpose of providing assistance to members or families of members of the Maine National Guard.

This bill authorizes the Military Bureau to provide space in military facilities to nonprofit organizations that provide assistance to members or families of members of the Maine National Guard. Under the bill, space provided to a nonprofit organization by the Military Bureau may be used only to provide assistance to members or families of members of the Maine National Guard.
