This bill
establishes a methodology for distributing funds for the hypodermic apparatus
exchange programs certified by the Maine Center for Disease Control and
Prevention (Maine CDC) and it allows the Maine CDC to amend rules regulating
the programs. The bill clarifies that any funding for the programs is not
intended to be the sole source of funding and does not limit the securing of
other sources of funding. Any additional costs to the Maine CDC is expected
to be minor and can be absorbed within existing budgeted resources. |
