The bill changes
the laws governing the expedited permitting of grid-scale wind energy
development and allows the Maine Land Use Planning Commission (LUPC) within
the Department of Agriculture, Conservation and Forestry to add and remove
specific locations to the designated wind energy permitting area under
certain circumstances. The bill contains a one-time General Fund
appropriation of $2,500 in fiscal year 2015-16 to the LUPC for rulemaking
related to these changes in law. |
