This bill proposes
to create transportation planning incentives for communities located on
peninsulas. If this results in higher
priorities than determined and assigned by the Department of Transportation
(DOT) for certain highways located on peninsulas, costs could increase in
order to continue to maintain highways according to the priorities set
forth. Since no additional funding is
available, repair and reconstruction to other highways (not peninsulas) may
need to be delayed, possibly increasing costs once repairs are made. Any
additional costs to DOT related to rulemaking are expected to be minor and
can absorbed within existing budgeted resources. |
