Fiscal Detail and Notes
	The amendment allows landfills that sent applications received by the Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) on or before September 1, 1989 to become eligible to have DEP pay 75% of closure costs incurred between July 1, 1994 and before December 31, 2025. DEP estimates that at least one additional landfill would become eligible. DEP will expend an estimated $365,600 for these closure costs. This amendment includes Other Special Revenue Funds allocations of $91,400 in each of fiscal years 2015-16 and 2016-17 for landfill closure costs. All costs to the DEP will be funded from the Maine Solid Waste Management Fund within DEP. The fund has sufficient resources to absorb these costs.
