The bill requires
the Department of Education (DOE) to establish a dyslexia coordinator
position that will develop a plan for training, professional development and
identifying needs of school administrative units for implementing certain
dyslexia-related practices and responses to intervention strategies. LD 1019,
the 2016-2017 Biennial Budget as enacted by the Legislature, includes a
federally funded Education Specialist III position as part of a
reorganization of the Special Services Team which, according to the DOE, can
be used as a dyslexia coordinator. |
