Fiscal Detail and Notes
The Department of Health and Human Services will require an allocation of $65,000 in fiscal year 2015-16 and $130,000 begining in fiscal year 2016-17 to add to the newborn screening program the lysosomal storage disorders known as Krabbe, Pompe, Gaucher, Fabry and Niemann-Pick diseases. Current newborn screening fees would be increased from $110 to $120 per baby in order to cover these additional costs.
