Amend the bill by striking out the title and substituting the following:

‘Resolve, Directing the Bureau of Insurance To Monitor Developments Related to Cybersecurity Standards for Insurance Companies of the National Association of Insurance Commissioners’

Amend the bill by striking out everything after the title and before the summary and inserting the following:

Sec. 1. Monitor development related to cybersecurity standards for insurance companies. Resolved: That the Department of Professional and Financial Regulation, Bureau of Insurance shall monitor the development of cybersecurity standards for insurance companies by the National Association of Insurance Commissioners and consult with the Joint Standing Committee on Insurance and Financial Services about the legislative and regulatory activities in other states related to cybersecurity for insurance companies to protect against security breaches involving personal information and health care information collected by or in the possession of insurance companies. The Joint Standing Committee on Insurance and Financial Services may report out a bill to the Second Regular Session of the 127th Legislature related to cybersecurity standards for insurance companies.’

This amendment is the minority report of the committee and replaces the bill with a resolve. This amendment directs the Department of Professional and Financial Regulation, Bureau of Insurance to monitor the development of cybersecurity standards for insurance companies by the National Association of Insurance Commissioners and consult with the Joint Standing Committee on Insurance and Financial Services about the legislative and regulatory activities in other states related to cybersecurity for insurance companies to protect against security breaches involving personal information and health care information collected by or in the possession of insurance companies. The amendment also authorizes the committee to report out a bill to the Second Regular Session of the 127th Legislature.
