Amend the bill in section 4 in subsection 6 in the last line (page 2, line 14 in L.D.) by inserting after the following: " race" the following: ' or a race of a candidate who is not a Maine Clean Election Act candidate or in both types of races'

SUMMARY

This amendment changes the provision in the bill that requires the Commission on Governmental Ethics and Election Practices to provide a form to political action committees on which the treasurer or principal officer of a political action committee may pledge not to spend money in a Maine Clean Election Act candidate's race to also provide that the treasurer or principal officer of a political action committee may pledge not to spend money in a race of a candidate who is not a Maine Clean Election Act candidate or in both types of races.
