Resolve, Directing the Department of Health and Human Services To Modify Coverage for Eyeglasses for Children under the Provisions of the MaineCare Program and Review Certain Reimbursement Rates

Sec. 1. MaineCare reimbursement for eyeglasses for children. Resolved: That, by January 1, 2016, the Department of Health and Human Services shall amend its Rule Chapter 101, MaineCare Benefits Manual, Chapter II, Section 75 to increase the reimbursement rate for eyeglasses for children by 50%. Rules adopted pursuant to this section are routine technical rules pursuant to the Maine Revised Statutes, Title 5, chapter 375, subchapter 2-A; and be it further

Sec. 2. Task force; review; report. Resolved: That the Department of Health and Human Services shall convene a task force to review the reimbursement rates for services to MaineCare recipients who are under 18 years of age for:

1. Dental care;

2. Vision care; and

3. Audiological care.

In addition, the task force shall review the reimbursement rates for services provided to individuals with cognitive or physical impairments. The department shall submit the findings of the task force, together with any proposed implementing legislation, to the Joint Standing Committee on Health and Human Services no later than November 4, 2015.
