An Act Concerning the Calendars of Career and Technical Education Programs and Partnering Schools
Sec. 1. 20-A MRSA §4801, sub-§2-A, ¶A, as amended by PL 2011, c. 686, §2, is further amended to read:
(1) When there are 3 or fewer school administrative units affiliated with a career and technical education center or within a career and technical education region, there may not be more than 5 days on which the calendars of those schools are not aligned with each other and with the regional school calendar;
(2) When there are 4 or 5 school administrative units affiliated with a career and technical education center or within a career and technical education region, there may not be more than 6 days on which the calendars of those schools are not aligned with each other and with the regional school calendar; and
(3) When there are 6 or more school administrative units affiliated with a career and technical education center or within a career and technical education region, there may not be more than 7 days on which the calendars of those schools are not aligned with each other and with the regional school calendar.

This bill provides that the calendars of all schools affiliated with a career and technical education center or within a career and technical education region must be aligned within 5 to 7 days of each other and with the regional school calendar, depending upon the number of schools sending students to the regional school.
