An Act To Improve Access to Insurance Coverage for Persons for Whom English Is a Second Language
Be it enacted by the People of the State of Maine as follows:
Sec. 1. 24-A MRSA §2412, sub-§9 is enacted to read:
9. Foreign language policies. A policy and any explanatory or advertising material related to a policy may be provided in a language other than English. In the event of a dispute or complaint regarding the policy or explanatory or advertising material, the English language version of the policy or explanatory or advertising material controls the resolution of the dispute or complaint.
