Amend the bill in section 1 in subsection 3 in the last line (page 1, line 10 in L.D.) by inserting after the following: " subsection 18" the following: ' , except that a person who has applied for an extension of benefits under that section but with respect to whom the process is not yet complete may be considered eligible'

Amend the bill by inserting after section 1 the following:

Initiative: Deappropriates savings associated with people being ineligible to receive municipal general assistance program benefits once they have exhausted the 60-month lifetime limit on the Temporary Assistance for Needy Families program.

SUMMARY

This amendment is the minority report of the committee. The amendment adds language to clarify that the provisions in the bill do not apply to a person who is in the process of seeking an extension of benefits under the Temporary Assistance for Needy Families program.

The amendment also adds an appropriations and allocations section.
