An Act To Require Political Action Committees To Report the Receipt of Paid Services Received from State Agencies
Be it enacted by the People of the State of Maine as follows:
Sec. 1. 21-A MRSA §1052, sub-§3, ¶D, as amended by PL 2011, c. 389, §28, is further amended to read:
D. The payment, by any person or , organization or state governmental agency or authority, of compensation for the personal services of other persons provided to a political action committee that is used by the political action committee to initiate or influence a campaign.

Under current law, when nonprofit corporations or commercial entities compensate their employees to provide services to a political action committee, the committee is required to report the services as a contribution. The bill requires that political action committees also report the receipt of services paid for by state agencies.
