JOINT RESOLUTION RECOGNIZING THE WEEK OF MAY 2, 2016 AS TEACHER APPRECIATION WEEK
WHEREAS, Maine's future depends upon the provision of high-quality education to all students; and
WHEREAS, teachers mold future citizens through guidance and education; and
WHEREAS, teachers are among the most dedicated of public servants in the State; and
WHEREAS, it is important to raise public awareness of the contributions of teachers and to promote greater respect for and understanding of the teaching profession; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED: That We, the Members of the One Hundred and Twenty-seventh Legislature now assembled in the Second Regular Session, on behalf of the people we represent, take this opportunity to recognize the week of May 2, 2016 as Teacher Appreciation Week and strongly encourage the citizens of the State to recognize the efforts of teachers in educating the children of their communities and to support teachers in their efforts.
