summary
This amendment, which is a minority report of the committee, provides funding to the Head Start program within the Department of Health and Human Services, but instead of the General Fund appropriations proposed in the bill, this amendment provides $575,000 per fiscal year to the Head Start program from the Fund for a Healthy Maine. The increase in funding may be used by the department to draw down available federal child care and development funds.
