Resolve, To Allow a Federally Recognized Indian Tribe To Conduct a Pilot Project in Hemp Cultivation
Sec. 1. Commissioner of Agriculture, Conservation and Forestry to issue permit to conduct a pilot project in industrial hemp production to a federally recognized Indian tribe. Resolved: That, notwithstanding the provisions of the Maine Revised Statutes, Title 7, section 2231, upon application the Commissioner of Agriculture, Conservation and Forestry shall issue a license to conduct a pilot project in industrial hemp cultivation to a federally recognized Indian tribe for the purpose of research on and development of the industrial and commercial uses of industrial hemp, including using hemp for food or medicinal or other beneficial purposes.
