An Act To Establish a State Educational Medicaid Officer

Sec. 1. 22 MRSA §3174-YY  is enacted to read:

§ 3174-YY.  State educational Medicaid officer

The commissioner shall designate an appropriate employee within the department as the state educational Medicaid officer to work in coordination with the Department of Education and school administrative units to maximize reimbursement for Medicaid services provided by school administrative units.

SUMMARY

This bill provides that the Commissioner of Health and Human Services must designate a state educational Medicaid officer within the Department of Health and Human Services to work with the Department of Education and school administrative units to maximize reimbursement for Medicaid services provided by school administrative units.
