An Act To Provide a Concealed Handgun Permit for Active Military Members
Be it enacted by the People of the State of Maine as follows:
Sec. 1. 25 MRSA §2003, sub-§18 is enacted to read:
18. Active duty members of the United States Armed Forces or state military forces. Notwithstanding the provisions of subsections 1, 2 and 4, a person who is a member of the United States Armed Forces or a state's military forces is eligible for a permit under this section if the person is not prohibited from possessing a firearm under Title 15, section 393.
SUMMARY
This bill allows a person who is a member of the Armed Forces of the United States or a state's military forces to be eligible for a permit to carry a concealed handgun if the person is not otherwise prohibited by law from possessing a firearm.
