An Act To Permit a Licensed Sales Representative To Provide Spirits at an Approved Tasting Event
Be it enacted by the People of the State of Maine as follows:
Sec. 1. 28-A MRSA §1505, sub-§4, as enacted by PL 2009, c. 459, §5, is repealed.
Sec. 2. 28-A MRSA §1505, sub-§5 is enacted to read:
5. Purchase of spirits. A sales representative participating in a tasting event pursuant to this section may provide spirits being offered for tasting during the event if the spirits are purchased at a licensed retail establishment. Any spirits provided for a tasting event pursuant to this subsection must be labeled "for tasting purposes only." Any remaining spirits provided in conjunction with a tasting event pursuant to this subsection must be removed from the licensed premises at the conclusion of the tasting event.

This bill amends the law concerning licensed sales representatives at liquor tasting events by allowing a sales representative to provide spirits to be sampled under certain conditions and by allowing a sales representative to pour spirits or wine at a liquor tasting event.
