Amend the bill by striking out all of sections 6 to 8 and inserting the following:
‘Sec. 6. 32 MRSA §1100-B, sub-§3, ¶D is enacted to read:
D. The making, placing, constructing, altering, reproducing or repairing of nonorthodontic removable sports mouth guards and the provision of teeth whitening services, including fabricating whitening trays, providing whitening solutions determined to be safe for public use and providing any required follow-up care and instructions for use of the trays and solutions at home.’
SUMMARY
This amendment removes provisions of the bill that allow denturists to take x-rays and fit removable prostheses, with the exception of orthodontic appliances, and instead authorizes a licensed denturist to make, place and repair nonorthodontic removable sports mouth guards and provide teeth whitening services.
