An Act To Allow Children's Residential Care Facilities To Ensure the Safety of Their Residents
Be it enacted by the People of the State of Maine as follows:
Sec. 1. 22 MRSA §8108 is enacted to read:
§ 8108. Search of property
An administrator of a children’s home or children’s residential care facility may search a resident’s backpack or travel bag and confiscate any items that pose a health or safety risk whenever that resident returns to the facility after an absence from the facility.
