An Act To Eliminate the Maine School Performance Grading System
Be it enacted by the People of the State of Maine as follows:
Sec. 1. 20-A MRSA §6214 is enacted to read:
§ 6214. School performance grading
The department may not use a school performance grading system that uses a single letter grade to measure school performance based on student proficiency standards established under this chapter.
SUMMARY
This bill prohibits the Department of Education from using a school performance grading system that uses a single letter grade to measure school performance.
